Mr. Wang joined Hillcrest in 2021 and is a Managing Director. In this capacity, he leads the Firm’s Originations efforts responsible for the origination, underwriting, and management of Hillcrest’s debt transactions. Mr. Wang has over 20 years of real estate experience, primarily in commercial real estate debt lending and investments.

Prior to joining Hillcrest, Mr. Wang was Senior Vice President within the Credit Markets Division of the Macquarie Group, a global investment bank, and financial services company, where he established and led the commercial real estate lending platform that focused on middle market opportunities for Macquarie’s balance sheet.

 

Prior to Macquarie, he was a Managing Director and Partner at Park Bridge Financial, a boutique real estate finance advisory firm, where he led their Lender Services practice.

 

Prior to Park Bridge, Mr. Wang was with American Capital (now Ares Capital Management), a publicly traded private equity and global asset management firm, where he established and managed a team responsible for debt origination, acquisition, sale-leaseback and equity co-investment opportunities.

 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Wang held positions at JPMorgan Chase and Merrill Lynch, where he focused on the originations and underwriting of CMBS loans.

Mr. Wang received a Bachelor of Science from New York University with a dual concentration in Finance and International Business and a minor in Political Science.
