Shivam Shah
Mr. Shah joined Hillcrest in 2018 and is a Vice President. In this capacity, he is primarily responsible for supporting the firm’s origination, underwriting, and asset and portfolio management activities.
Prior to joining Hillcrest, Mr. Shah was an Analyst with Hanover Street Capital (a dedicated asset management platform of Deutsche Bank Commercial Real Estate). The group oversees a portfolio of commercial real estate debt, ranging from performing, high-yield, sub-performing, non-performing commercial mortgage loans, distressed/non-performing loans, and real estate owned (REO). Mr. Shah assisted in the asset management and surveillance of over 40 assets worth over $1.5 billion of capital.
Prior to Hanover Street Capital, he was a Summer Analyst at StoneBeck Capital Management, which provides high-yield financing for commercial real estate ("CRE"), including stretch senior and mezzanine loans and preferred equity on all property types throughout the United States. He focused on the underwriting and diligence of $300 million of transitional whole loan, mezzanine debt, and preferred equity opportunities.
Mr. Shah received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics as well as Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an active member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA) and is a Young Professional in the CRE Financial Council (CREFC).
